It's All About Print
Hey TPO'ers, todays post is about using the Print trend, which was very demanded this season. This year we've seen the famous sets, a combination of short pants, long pants or a skirt with the same print as the top. I love how it gives a "fun" touch to your wardrobe. In this post I utilised a set of shorts with "aztec" prints in black and white. I combined it with a colourful statement necklace and tall boots giving it a Fall look.

Hola TPO'ers, hoy les comento sobre una tendencia muy utilizada esta temporada: el "Print". Este año hemos visto los tan famosos "sets", ya sea de pantalón corto, largo o falda con un patron igual que el "top". Me gustan mucho ya que da un toque divertido que llama mucho la atención. En este "post" utilice un "set" de pantalón corto con patron azteca en colores blanco y negro. Lo combine con un collar llamativo que tuviese un color que resaltara y para darle un "fall look" utilice botas altas.

The Nailbar: "Cheers to Beauty"
Hey, TPO'ers, today I have excellent news! The Statement T-shirt
Hey TPO'ers, hope you had a wonderfull weekend. Today I present to you Noxiuz, last week I had the opportunity of meeting with them, see their graphic design work, and their awesome and famous graphic T-shirts. This graphic T-shirts have been very trendy this year, as you can use it in a casual manner with jeans or you can dress them up with a pencil skirt. I personally love the glam and chic style, so I used them with a more chic look but with an edgy touch. The T-shirts I wore for this article were a collaboration between Noxiuz and the famous designer Luis Antonio as part of his Spring-Summer 2014 "Rockcoco" Collection ; which I wrote last week.

Hola TPO'ers, espero hayan tenido un fabuloso fin de semana. Hoy les escribo sobre Noxiuz, ya que la semana pasada tuve el placer de conocerlos, ver su excelente trabajo como artistas gráficos y ahora también como diseñadores de las tan famosas "graphics T-shirts". Estas han sido una gran tendencia en el 2013 ya que se utilizan de manera casual con tus "jeans" o puedes vestirlas mas chic como por ejemplo con una "pencil skirt". Noxiuz Lifestyle Clothing nace del deseo y la necesidad que vieron que existía un grupo de jóvenes artistas. Compuesta por Juan Alejandro Hernandez, diseñador y director creativo, Nelson Hernandez, artista urbano, diseñador y director de arte . Creando un estilo de vida que se caracteriza por “buscar la perfección aún en los lugares equivocados”. Es una fusión entre fluidez, agresividad, determinación, creatividad y libertad. Apela al total descubrimiento interno y la exploración de múltiples métodos de expresión individual. Recibe influencias del movimiento del graffiti , la música urbana y la vida nocturna. "Rockoco" Runway by Luis Antonio
The new collection by designer Luis Antonio titled “Rockoco”
for spring/summer 2014 counted with approximately 60 changes. In which they
were divided in 45 wardrobe changes for women and 15 for men.
Interview
1) What was your inspiration for this collection?
My collection is inspired by the
opulence, glamour and excess that characterized the “corte Versallesca” of the
XVIII century. This century was exemplified by the French queen, Maria
Antonieta.
From her beginnings in the French
court, Maria Antonieta was known for being a visionary woman beacuase of her
attitude and rebellion toward monarchy, role as a woman and mostly her
influential style. Her style was characterized by absolute extravagance and
always wanted to be innovative. The queen played with different styles until
she changed it and made styles of her own. In my “rockoco” collection I am
designing it for the “Maria Antonieta” of our times, taking inspiration from
the 2006 film “Marie Antoinette” from Sofia Copolla
Fabric utilized in the fashion show was
brocades, silk crepe, silk organza, linen in pastel color, guipure lace, French
Chantilly lace as well as the “micado” pastel color.

“Akua”
was in charge of the ballroom decoration. A Versalles inspired garden was
recreated, and many projections were used to simulate a walk in the garden.
La colección del diseñador Luis Antonio titulada "Rockoco" Primavera/Verano 2014 conto con aproximadamente 60 cambios. Estos estuvieron divididos en cerca de 45 cambios para mujeres y 15 cambios para hombres.
Entrevista:
1) ¿Cual fue la inspiración para la
colección?
Mi colección está inspirada en la
opulencia, el glamour y el exceso que tanto caracterizó a la corte Versallesca
del Siglo XVIII y que fue ejemplificada por la reina francesa, María
Antonieta.
Desde su comienzo en la corte
francesa, María Antonieta se dio a conocer por ser una mujer visionaria en
términos de su actitud y rebelión hacia la monarquía, su rol como mujer y
sobretodo su influencia en la moda. Su estilo se caracterizaba en la
extravagancia absoluta y buscaba siempre ser innovador. La reina jugaba
con las modas hasta cambiarlas y hacerlas suyas o crear modas completamente
nuevas. En mi colección "Rockoco" estoy diseñando para la María
Antonieta que vive en el día de hoy, tomando inspiración del film del 2006
"Marie Antoinette" de Sofia Coppola.
2)
¿Que tipo de telas se utilizaron?
Las
telas utilizadas en el desfile fueron brocados, crepe de seda, organzas de
seda, lino en colores pasteles, encajes de “guipure”, encaje “chantilly”
francés además de “Micado” en colores pasteles.
3)
Cuéntame sobre la decoración del salón…
La decoración del “Ballroom” estuvo a
cargo de “Akua” (http://www.akuapr.com/).
Se recreó una jardín inspirado en Versalles y se utilizó varias proyecciones de
fondo para simular un paseo por los jardines.

1966 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The first of four children, Luis Antonio
started designing since his early years in High School. After a couple of
years in the New York Fashion Institute of Technology, Luis Antonio returns to
Puerto Rico were he began working in designing his ready-to-wear
collection.Luis Antonio’s label quickly became a household name among society
women. His collections are modern and cosmopolitan, yet they posses a
romantic, feminine quality about them which has been the reflection of Luis
Antonio’s staple over the years. His use of ruffles, bows, vibrant
colors, soft silhouettes and evening wear, characterizes his creativeness and
architectural vision over the past two decades.Luis Antonio’s label also
produces casual and formal, menswear and in recent years, his own shoe
design-line by famous shoe franchise, NOVUS, INC.

Juan, PR. Empezó sus diseños en sus principios de escuela superior. Luego de
varios años en FIT NYC, Luis Antonio regreso a Puerto Rico donde comenzó a
diseñar su colección de “ready-to-wear”, su nombre se dio a conocer rápido
entre las mujeres de la sociedad. Sus colecciones son modernas aunque poseen un
toque romántico y femenino. Luis Antonio posee una línea casual-formal para caballero
y en los últimos años su propia línea de calzado en NOVUS, INC.
